A Stoke-on-Trent based building and joinery contractor has taken delivery of a second state-of-the art CNC router to further improve its service to the UK hospitality sector. The new machine, which represents a £100,000 investment, is pictured being offloaded at R & S Tonks’ Boothen Green factory after an 1150 mile journey from Rimini in Italy.
R & S Tonks Ltd, which celebrates its 65th anniversary this year, is one of the Midland’s leading refurbishment companies, and has worked for many of the country’s leading pub, restaurant and hotel chains, as well as for small owner-managed businesses.
Managing Director Robert Tonks sees the new machine as a vital element in his Company’s plans for future growth:
“Customers are demanding ever shorter turnround times, our new machine will help us to achieve this and improve factory productivity. We will be able to offer 100% product quality and repeatability. We are also hoping that the flexibility of the equipment will enable us to open up new markets. We have noticed an increasing interest recently in a return to the use of timber for products which had previously been formed from plastic or other man-made materials”.
